Welcome to this unique Monday post. I figured I would try this Monday to take a break from the travel related posts and share what I am loving and hating right now and give you a small look into our life from the past week.
What I am Happy about this week
Ok you guys. You know that our April trip was supposed to be to Costa Rica. Well this week I stumbled across a deal (you guys know I am addicted to travel deals) and we decided to change our plans. The week after kids spring break we are heading to Italy! After much debate we honestly couldn’t pass up the deal because it would have been more expensive to go to Costa Rica. So tickets are bought, hotels are paid for and there will be more to come on this soon!
What I am Loving this week
This is going to sound strange, but I am loving the cooler weather this past week. Where I live it has been in the high 60’s to low 80’s for the past month, and with our Florida trip coming up in two weeks, I love the cold front that came through to remind me why I wanted to head further south for a family vacation.
What I am Hating this week
Yesterday I found an awesome ten day cruise deal for an unbelievable price. Drew and I discussed it for a good two hours but with our trip to Italy coming up in April and the Florida trip this month we just didn’t have the time off work to take for it. This is the worst part of working in the corporate America world. The paid time off bites for most companies. Although this served as a reminder as to why Drew and I both want to leave corporate America in the next two years, a goal we have been working on for awhile now.
What I am Reading this week
I finished Almost French by Sarah Turnbull this week and it was an awesome and funny read. I would highly recommend it if you haven’t read it. I have never been to Paris but the way the people are portrayed in the book definitely moves Paris higher on my travel list.
What I am Worried about this week
Two weeks till we leave for Florida and my house looks like a tornado went through it. Ok to be honest it almost always looks like that with four kids, two dogs, two cats and other animals running through it, but I have a house sitter staying at my house while we are in Florida and I would like for my house to at least be somewhat presentable for the sitter. This week I told the kids they all have to help me get everything in order, I will let you know how that works out!
