I started this series after our Florida trip, so it’s time for the Italy favorites. I touched down in JFK airport yesterday at 1:00 pm and then drove to North Carolina so this is fresh off the plane and out of the car. This one is very tough to write because everything in Italy was my favorite as you will soon discover in the upcoming posts, but for now here are the ones that stick out the most.
- Favorite Town – Hands down my favorite town was Montecatini Terme. I know this might be shocking for some because it’s not a big name town that everyone knows, but that doesn’t bother me. It is my favorite because it was our home base, and while we went out exploring everyday, we couldn’t wait to return in the evenings to our home away from home
- Favorite Food – This one again was won by a landslide and might come as a surprise. My favorite food was cheesecake. That’s right cheesecake. So creamy, so delicious, so flavorful, it definitely took the favorite dessert of mine to a whole new level. You will be able to read about the restaurant that serves this deliciousness in an upcoming post on Florence.
- Favorite Spot – A roadside ditch….this might require a little explaining, but the roadside ditch we relaxed in and had the perfect view was without a doubt the favorite spot. We even debated on not going into Florence so we could go back to our ditch one more time.
- Favorite Bed – The Ibis hotel had the most comfortable bed. This has a lot to do with this being the only one that actually had a double bed. The other places we stayed had to twin beds pushed together.
