Trish's Table Week in Review

Weekly Review

Welcome to my weekly post where I take a break from travel-related posts and I share about our life from last week and what we are loving and sometimes hating right now.

Where we went

This week we went on a 6 mile hike up Pilot Mountain in North Carolina.  We took our three dogs and while I think the hike might have been a bit much for them, they enjoyed hanging out with us.  We also headed into the Raleigh flea market and the city market.  It feels like we were on the go all week!  We also got a chance to see Spider-Man which was awesome.  We usually don’t see movies in the theater unless it’s the dollar theater, which yes there is one close by to us.

Where we are heading this week

This week the North Carolina Museum of Art and Yates Mill Pond Trail are on our list of places to explore.  I have really been enjoying traveling around my home state.  I have lived in North Carolina for over 9 years, almost 10, and believe it or not I have not previously visited most of places I write about.

Another Trip Planned

We just recently decided to head to Ireland and Scotland for a week in November and have been planning that trip.  Actually planning the trip has been quite a bit of fun!  Our Italy trip was planned out for us, but I am slowly figuring out planning the trip is half the fun!  So we decided to add another trip.  With both of us now working from home, planning domestic travel is pretty easy while the kids are away for the summer.  So we are packing our bags and heading to Upstate New York, into Canada to see Montreal and back down through NYC because well why not?  We are doing the trip road trip style and yes we are bringing the dogs.

What I am loving this week

I am definitely loving my Audible app!  With all the time we have spent in the car this past month I have a newfound appreciation for Audible.  If you haven’t tried it click here for 40% off through July 11th.

What I am hating this week

The smell of sunscreen!  Ahhh!  I burn so easily that I have to slather on sunscreen everyday and at this point because we are spending so much time hiking and outdoors I am reapplying every few hours to keep from burning.  I really wish there was an affordable sunscreen option that doesn’t smell like sunscreen.  Hopefully one day, till then I will be using the Wal-Mart brand sunscreen that smells horrible!
